HOW IT WORKS: The Jacobson's organ in snakes is used along with the snake's tongue to sense the surroundings. The snake will flick out its tongue picking up the scent of vapor molecules (Napththalene). When the snake pulls its tongue back into its mouth, the vapor molecules get transferred to the odor-sensitive Jacobson's organ.
